Lights!

Electric Lanterns

Here are the 3 electric lanterns I own.  Each have 2 fluorescent bulbs and 1 or 2 bulbs can be selected to illuminate.  The first on the left is made by Energizer (see additional photos below).  Operates on 4 "D" cell batteries.  The middle one is made by Coleman and operates on 8 "D" cell batteries.  It is much larger and heavier, but will have an increased operating time.  The lantern on the right is also made by Coleman but has a rechargeable sealed lead-acid battery.  We leave this one in the hallway at home.  It stays on charge constantly.  In the event of a power outage, it automatically turns on.  It will work fine for camping but will take time to recharge between uses.
Lights out, lanterns on!  All 3 do a fine job.  Safe for use in tents or to allow children to use.  They lack the power to light up an entire campsite, like a gas or propane lantern, but work well for localized lighting.

Here's that Energizer lantern again.  This little lantern is a real bargain.  It was about  $10.00 at Wal-Mart.  The others ones are much bulkier, heavier, and cost more.
